The application & selection process

Following is a brief guide to the steps involved in the application and selection process for Future of Energy Engineering Scholarships.

  1. 1 Submit your application online

    When applications are open, complete an online application and attach an up-to-date CV and your latest academic transcript.

    Applications will only be accepted during the specified scholarship application period. Unfortunately, applications received after the closing date will not be considered.

    All applications must be made through the Energy Queensland Scholarships webpage.

    Please note: Applications are currently closed and will reopen early 2024.

  2. 2 Complete questionaire

    Candidates that meet the minimum criteria will be contacted by email and asked to answer some questions about themselves, their university studies, work history and interests.

  3. 3 Online testing

    If you progress to the next stage, you'll be invited to participate in some online testing.

    You will be emailed links and instructions to complete the following:

    • Ability testing (Numerical Reasoning/ Verbal Reasoning / Abstract Reasoning)
    • Online behavioural profile assessment about your work preferences
    • Conduct a short one-way video interview. This includes answering 4 questions to help us get to you know and understand why you think you are a worthy recipient of one of our scholarships.

    Please note: All results remain confidential and will not be provided to applicants.

  4. 4 Attend a panel interview via video conference

    If you make it to the next round of the recruitment process, we'll contact you and ask you to attend a panel interview via video conference. Interview questions will be behavioural-based, and your responses should include relevant examples that demonstrate your ability and/or experience.

    Various interview time slots will be available for you to book an interview at a time that suits you. Time slots are offered on a first in best dressed basis.

    The panel interviews usually occur in the first two weeks of May.

  5. 5 Scholarship offer

    If you make it this far CONGRATULATIONS, you will be offered a scholarship!

    We will email you instructions on how to accept the scholarship. You will need to sign a Scholarship Agreement and complete some forms so we can make the scholarship payments to you and set you up in our systems for future work with us.
