Suzanne Shipp joined Energy Queensland’s Executive Leadership Team in September 2025 as Chief Engineer. In this role, Suzanne oversees engineering and asset management across the Ergon Energy and Energex operational streams and is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Queensland’s electricity distribution networks.
With more than 30 years of experience, Suzanne brings a broad and diverse industry background. Her career began in the military as an apprentice and has since included senior operational and engineering roles, including the management of energy transmission systems across Australia’s critical infrastructure.
She holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronics Engineering, First Class Honours) and a Master of Business Administration. Suzanne is also a Chartered Professional Engineer, a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland, an Engineering Executive, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
In 2025, Suzanne was recognised with the Women in Industry Excellence in Energy Award. She is also a Board Director of the Currumbin Palm Beach RSL Sub Branch and the Men’s Information and Support Association (MISA).
