The Future of Energy Engineering Scholarships program provides recipients with a head start in their career. In addition to being paid up to $20,000 per year, each year until the completion of your degree, you will gain opportunities for real experience with paid vacation work, working with some of Australia’s most innovative engineers.

When you graduate, scholarship recipients will be invited to apply for our highly sought-after graduate program that will set you up for rewarding career in the power industry.

About us and our Graduate Program

Energy Queensland is a wholly government-owned company, with several subsidiaries that provide electricity services. This provides our graduates with a broad range of opportunities and experiences.

Our ‘poles and wires’ businesses Energex and Ergon Energy Network deliver electricity across Queensland. Our retailer, Ergon Energy Retail, sells this electricity to customers throughout regional Queensland. Energy Queensland also owns Yurika, which specialises in energy, connectivity and sustainability, and delivers a range of fully integrated, turn-key solutions.

Our three-year program offers you a diversity of working and learning experiences to help you develop future-focused technical, business and leadership skills.

As part of the program you'll be:

  • Developing a breadth of transferrable skills by undertaking six-monthly rotations through an exciting range of business areas, roles, specialisations and locations across Queensland
  • Collaborating with experts and new and emerging technologies to challenge your critical thinking abilities and accelerate your learning in an environment that values new ideas and innovation
  • Given your own mentor, an experienced professional who will provide one-on-one leadership and support to guide your development and success
  • Accessing an extensive range of professional development in technical and business area, exposing you to best-practice, emerging and future ideas from the industry and beyond
  • Rewarded with a competitive salary package and ongoing opportunities for pay progression.
